Experience two prime safari activities in Volcanoes National Park with this 3-day Rwanda gorilla safari and golden monkey trekking tour. You'll embark on unforgettable gorilla and golden monkey trekking adventures, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the park. Additionally, after your primate trekking experiences, delve into Rwandan culture with a visit to a cultural village, providing a unique opportunity to learn about local customs and traditions. This safari promises an enriching and unforgettable journey through Rwanda's stunning landscapes and vibrant culture.

Upon your arrival at the airport, our experienced driver guide will be awaiting to warmly welcome you to 'the land of a thousand hills'. You'll commence your journey with a tour of Kigali city before heading to Volcanoes National Park. Depending on your arrival time and subsequent duration in the city prior to your drive to Musanze, you'll have various options for places to visit, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, Craft markets in Kigali, and the Kandt National Museum. The city tour is optional; you may choose to proceed directly to Musanze to prepare for the Rwanda gorilla trekking adventure the following day. Following a brief tour of Kigali city, you'll enjoy lunch in the city before embarking on the drive to Musanze. Along the way, you'll have opportunities to marvel at Rwandan landscapes and visit the Ellen Degeneres Campus by the Diana Fossey Fund in preparation for the gorilla trekking experience. Accommodation options include: Virunga Inn Resort & Spa (Luxury), Fatima Hotel (Mid-range), and Virunga Homestay (Budget). Each option offers comfortable lodging to suit your preferences and budget.
After an early morning breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you to the reception and briefing area at the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park. Here, a ranger guide will provide valuable insights and tips for your time in the park, including encounters with mountain gorillas. While waiting to begin your trek, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy pure Rwandan coffee. Following the briefing, you'll be assigned to different gorilla groups and starting points to commence the trek. Gorilla trekking necessitates a reasonable level of fitness to fully enjoy hiking in the Volcanoes. If the gorilla family you visit is nearby and the activity concludes in the morning, there's an option to visit the Gorilla Guardians Village. This offers a chance to delve deeper into Rwandan culture and learn about the people who have coexisted with gorillas for centuries. Accommodation options include: Virunga Inn Resort & Spa (Luxury), Fatima Hotel (Mid-range), and Virunga Homestay (Budget). Each option ensures a comfortable stay suited to your preferences and budget.
Today, after breakfast, we'll transfer once again to the briefing area, this time for golden monkey trekking. Golden monkeys are primates found in the Virunga regions of Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo. They are known for their high activity levels compared to gorillas. To capture great photos, you'll need to continuously follow them as they search for food, particularly bamboo shoots. Sometimes, they may venture into nearby gardens in search of potatoes. However, they are typically not located too far away, making the trek to their habitat more manageable than some gorilla families. Just like the previous day, you'll receive a briefing at the park headquarters before starting your golden monkey trek. While you can carry a packed lunch, the trek usually lasts a short time, allowing you to return to the lodge for lunch afterward. Following lunch, your driver guide will transfer you back to Kigali to return to your hotel or catch your flight home. This marks the end of our service.
